Here's how it works: Each couple will randomly select a dance style they've mastered so far in the competition. But here's where it gets controversial... they'll have just 10 seconds to decide how to perform it! After a quick costume change, they'll take the stage, and the countdown begins. It's a race against time and a test of their ability to adapt and innovate.
And this is the part most people miss: the judges' rankings! After all six couples have danced, the Strictly judges will rank their performances, awarding a maximum of six marks to the couple who left them in awe and a single point to the one who didn't quite hit the mark. Head Judge Shirley Ballas believes this challenge has the potential to turn the competition upside down, saying, "Instant Dance will challenge our couples in unprecedented ways. With the competition so tight this year, it could be a game-changer."
