Rory Jennings, a former England U20 international rugby player, has decided to hang up his boots at the age of 30, having represented a remarkable 10 different clubs during his nomadic career. Jennings, who was once an age-grade teammate of current England prop Ellis Genge, has chosen to become a part-time player at National League One Rosslyn Park while pursuing a new career in the corporate world. In a heartfelt LinkedIn post, Jennings reflected on his 12-year journey in professional rugby, expressing his gratitude for the experiences and lessons learned along the way.
Jennings' career began in the Bath academy and took him to various clubs, including Leicester, London Irish, and Newcastle, as well as international adventures in Clermont-Auvergne. He also had spells in the Championship with Jersey, Rotherham, London Scottish, Ealing, and Coventry. Jennings' nomadic career has been a unique journey, with him stating, 'I’ve been at a fair few clubs – more clubs than Tiger Woods. That wasn’t the plan.'
In an interview, Jennings shared his love for London Irish, where he felt perfectly suited to the team and location. He was particularly impressed with the organization and the way they played the game.
