House on the Edge of the Plain: A Pavilion in the Landscape
Set at the edge of the Murska Sobota plain, this single-family house is conceived as a pavilion in the landscape, where daily life unfolds between interior space and garden. Rather than standing apart from its surroundings, the house opens itself to them.
The architects, Skupaj Arhitekti, have designed a residence that seamlessly blends with its natural environment. The house is an extension of the landscape, with its form and materials echoing the surrounding terrain. The interior space is open and fluid, with large windows and sliding doors that blur the boundaries between inside and out. This design encourages residents to spend time outdoors, enjoying the natural beauty of the plain.
The use of natural materials such as wood and stone further emphasizes the connection between the house and its surroundings. The roof, with its low pitch, is designed to blend with the landscape, creating a sense of unity with the environment. The house is a testament to the idea that architecture can be a part of nature, rather than a separate entity.
The project gallery showcases the house's unique design and its harmonious integration with the landscape. The images provide a glimpse into the interior spaces, highlighting the use of natural light and the seamless flow between the interior and exterior. The house is a perfect example of how architecture can enhance the beauty of its surroundings and create a sense of place.
This project is a collaboration with manufacturers TON, Artemide, Donar, Flos, Ligne Roset, and Rex Kralj, who have contributed to the creation of a space that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
The House on the Edge of the Plain is a remarkable example of contemporary architecture, where the built environment becomes an extension of the natural world.
