The Atlanta Falcons are on a mission to find their next head coach, and the search is heating up! After parting ways with Raheem Morris, the team is looking for its 20th head coach in franchise history. A new leadership team, including Falcons President of Football Matt Ryan, is leading the charge with the help of ZRG Partners and Sportsology Group. But here's where it gets interesting...
Falcons owner Arthur Blank has stated that the search committee will be structured differently this time, with a heavy emphasis on hiring a president of football first. This person will then lead the interviews for the head coach and general manager positions. The Falcons will announce interviews as they are completed.
The NFL has specific rules teams must follow when conducting these interviews.
The Falcons have officially interviewed Klint Kubiak for the head coach position.

So, who is Klint Kubiak?
Currently, Kubiak is the offensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks.
Resume Highlights:
- Kubiak has a decade of experience in the NFL coaching ranks since 2015. He has worked with the Minnesota Vikings (quarterbacks coach, offensive coordinator), Denver Broncos (passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach), San Francisco 49ers (passing game coordinator), and New Orleans Saints (offensive coordinator).
- He currently leads one of the league's hottest offenses with the Seahawks, who recently clinched the NFC West title and earned the No. 1 seed in the conference, a feat they hadn't achieved since 2020. The team's 14 wins this season set a new franchise record.
- Offensively, the Seahawks finished the regular season 3rd in scoring and tied for 7th in total yardage.
Local Connection: Kubiak has a prior connection with Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins from their time together in Minnesota (2019-21). If Cousins remains in Atlanta, there is an existing familiarity.
Why Kubiak?
Kubiak's extensive offensive coaching experience could be just what the Falcons need. With a mix of young and experienced talent, including franchise quarterback Michael Penix Jr., star running back Bijan Robinson, and wide receiver Drake London, Kubiak could be the key to unlocking the offense's full potential. The Falcons could also use their franchise tag on tight end Kyle Pitts Sr.
He has proven he can quickly elevate an offense's production. The Seahawks saw a significant jump in offensive performance under Kubiak. The Seahawks went from 14th in total yards and 18th in points scored in 2024 to 8th and 3rd, respectively, in 2025. The Falcons were 14th in total yards and 24th in points scored this season.
Kubiak comes from the Shanahan coaching tree, known for producing thriving offenses. He worked under Kyle Shanahan with the 49ers in 2023. Kubiak was part of the offensive staff that helped running back Christian McCaffrey total a league-high 1,459 rushing yards and 2,2023 yards from scrimmage. At the same time, 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy threw for the fifth-most yards in the NFL with 4,280, which could be a goal for Penix.
